2010 MWC

Based on average the Colombians fell out of the top 4 to 6th place

2010MWCTrioCOL.jpg2010MWCTrioKOR.jpgJaime Monroy, David Romero, Fabio Garcia, Manuel Otalora and Andres Gomez (pictured left) of Colombia, who led Squad 2 in the Team Preliminaries of the Men's World Championships Thursday on the WTBA Atlanta lane conditioning pattern, maintained their lead Friday on the WTBA Mexico City pattern to set the pace with 6119 pinfall total and an average of 203.97.

Gomez, who is exempt for the 2010-11 PBA Tour, led the team with 1287 and was followed by Monroy with 1267. The two Colombians hold the championship record for one game in Doubles with 599 (1999 in UAE). Otalora contributed 1242, Romero had 1168 and Garcia 1155.

2010MWCTeamUSA.jpg2010MWCTeamFIN.jpgBased on average, the Colombians slipped from fourth to sixth place in the overall standings. However, the 45-ft. WTBA Mexico City lane conditioning pattern is considered more challenging than the 38-ft. Atlanta pattern.

It's not a given thing that the top five countries of Squad 1, United States (left, 220.93), Finland (right, 219.00), Norway (212.47), Belgium (205.87) and Canada (204.73), will maintain their average.

2010MWCTrioSIN.jpg2010MWCTrioGRE.jpgKorea (above right) finished 28 pins behind Colombia with 6091 (203.03) with Singapore (left) in third at 6054 (201.80 and Greece (right) in fourth at 6049 (201.63).

Squad 2 will conclude the Team preliminaries of the 2010 Men's World Championships at Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany, on Friday afternoon. The Team preliminaries will also decide the medals in All Events (combined results of Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team).

The teams from 54 countries were split into two squads who will bowl two 3-game blocks, one each on the 38-foot WTBA Atlanta (Thursday) and 45-foot WTBA Mexico City (Friday) lane conditioning pattern.

The top 4 five-player teams with the highest 6-game total will advance to the playoffs. Bowlingdigital's Live Streaming broadcast starts at 7.30 p.m. CET (1.30 p.m. EST).
