Joshua Chow (pictured left) from Hong Kong, China, and local bowler Patricia Hui (right) triumphed in the men's and women's Asian Bowling Federation Tour Macau leg Sunday at COTAI Bowling Center in Macau, China.
The top 16 Asian bowlers from the Macau China Open advanced to the sixth leg of the 2010 ABF Tour. The men's division was dominated by Hong Kong bowlers, who brought five bowlers into the Round of 16.
After Eric Tseng defeated Michael Tsang, both Hong Kong, 201-172, in the opening round, Tseng and his compatriots Michael Mak, Wu Siu Hong and Chow eliminated their opponents to make the semifinals an all-Hong Kong affair.
Tseng, gold medalist in Doubles at the 2008 Asian Championships, held off Mak, Hong Kong's latest wonder kid, 254-222, and Chow upset Hong Kong's No. 1 Siu Hong, 202-177. In a high-scoring title match, Chow (right) cruised to the title with a 239-217 victory.
On the women's side, 17-year old Patricia Hui defeated four experienced bowlers on her way to her biggest career title.
In the Round of 16, Hui (left) topped Tannya Roumimper, Indonesia, 196-190, and went on to eliminate 2007 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions winner, Tang Joh Six, Malaysia, 182-150.
Hui then ousted her more experienced team mate, Filomena Choi, Macau, 212-200, in the semis before she flew past ABF Tour champion Vanessa Fung, Hong Kong, 248-177, to warp up the title.
The 7th and penultimate leg of the 2010 Asian Bowling Federation Tour will be staged July 18th in Jakarta, Indonesia.
