Koivuniemi, Tan continue to lead European Bowling Tour rankings after Tilburg
02/15/10

Brunswick Ballmaster Open champion Mika Koivuniemi (pictured left), Finland, and BBO women's ranking winner Cherie Tan (right), Singapore, remained unchallenged atop the men's and women's European Bowling Tour rankings after the conclusion of the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament, an EBT Silver event.
The Brunswick Ballmaster Open was one of two EBT Platinum events this year, the highest of the four EBT tournament categories, offering 250 ranking points for the top-ranked male and female bowler.
The winner of a Gold tournament gets 150, the winner of a Silver tournament gets 100, and the winner of a Satellite tournament gets 50 ranking points.
Though not competing in Tilburg, Koivuniemi and Tan held onto the lead in their respective divisions as just six men and six women have cashed ranking points in both events.
Koivuniemi (250 points) leads fellow PBA super star Parker Bohn (200), while Dominic Barrett (195) leaped into third place thanks to the 80 ranking points for his runner-up finish in Tilburg.

3-time defending ranking champ Osku Palermaa, Finland, climbed to sixth with 135. Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament winner Dennis Eklund (pictured left), Sweden, got his first ranking points this season and is tied for 10th place with 100. Martin Larsen, Sweden, moved into 12th place with 91.
Tan (250) leads Nina Manninen (200), Finland, and Joline Persson Planefors (175), Sweden, in the 2010 EBT women's ranking after 2 of 21 events - 2 Platinum, 7 Gold, 8 Silver and 4 Satellite tournaments.
Rikke Holm Rasmussen (162), Denmark, and Tina Hulsch (155), Germany, cashed ranking points in Helsinki and Tilburg to sit in fourth and fifth place. Martina Beckel (pictured right), Germany, who reached the final round in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament en route to win the women's ranking in Tilburg, is tied for 10th place with 100 ranking points.
The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each of the 21 tournaments of the 2010 European Bowling Tour will cash ranking points no matter from which country or WTBA Zone (Europe, Asia, America) he or she comes.
The top 16 men and the top 16 women at the end of the 2010 EBT season will qualify for the 2011 EBT Masters to be held at Gladiator Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia, April 11-12, 2011.
The European Bowling Tour moves to Wroclaw, Poland for the 4th International Wroclaw Open by Hammer, an EBT Satellite tournament, which starts on Monday, Feb. 15 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 21 at 10-laner Galeria Rozrywki Miraz.
