Gardner, 50, has been with Brunswick Bowling since January 2007, most recently as the southeastern product specialist, providing pro shops with access to Brunswick bowling equipment, technical information and event support.

In his new role, Gardner will be responsible for coordinating all facets of the Brunswick Bowling pro staff, including on-site presence for the men's and women's PBA Tour and other professional bowling events.

Gardner will assist Brunswick pro staff with bowling equipment for use during pro events, and will coach the pro staff on their physical game. Additionally, Gardner will coordinate sales visits, seminars and exhibitions for the pro staff, when associated with a professional bowling event.

"I am extremely excited to be part of the Number 1 team in the bowling industry," said Gardner, "and I'm looking forward to many more successful years with Brunswick."

Prior to his time with Brunswick, Gardner was the director of coaching and tour support for Columbia Industries. In that position, Chuck traveled with the National PBA Tour, providing both coaching and technical support to the PBA Tour players and coaching clinics and technical seminars throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

Gardner's tenure with Columbia Industries also included stints as a tour staff-player, tour representative, and sales manager. Gardner is the former director of pro shop operations for AMF Bowling, and at one time, owned his own 32-lane family recreation center in Franklin, Va., selling the center in 1998.

"Chuck's vast experience in the bowling industry and incredible passion for the game will provide Brunswick with an invaluable resource on the PBA Tour," said Nick Stickler, vice president of Brunswick Aftermarket and Consumer Products. "We are excited to have Chuck in a position to help our pro staff succeed at every level."

Gardner, a Silver-Level coach with USBC, was named one of the Top 100 Bowling Coaches by Bowlers Journal International in 2005, and again in 2008.

"I enjoy helping people improve their game, no matter what their level," said Gardner, a PBA member for 25 years, before leaving the PBA National Tour in November of 2002. Gardner still occasionally frequents the PBA Southern Region Tour, and recently finished fifth in the PBA Senior Regional in Wilmington, N.C. He currently resides in Charlotte, N.C. with his wife, Deborah.
