Shin Seung Hyeon wins second gold for Korea in 15th Asian Youth Championships

Shin Seung Hyeon (pictured right) won the second gold medal in the 15th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships when he captured the title in Boys Singles on the second day of competition Wednesday at Cozmo Bowling Center in Salmiya City, Kuwait.
Seung Hyeon rolled games of 250, 257, 248, 249, 286 and 193 to lead the 58-player field on the short oil pattern with 1483 six-game total and an average of 247.17. It was the second gold medal for Korea in as many events after Baek Seung Ja won the Girls Singles on Tuesday.
Trailing Seung Hyeon by 37 pins to win the silver medal was Lee Tak Man (below, left) of Macau, China. Mau started with 685 for the first three games, added 203 and then rolled the second 300 game of the championships (Rina Asada, Japan had the first in women's Singles). Man closed out the set with 258 for 1446 and an average of 241.00.
Michael Mak (right) of Hong Kong led the first of two squads with 1418 (236.33) en route to finish in third place and to earn the bronze medal.
Hong Hae Sol, Korea, missed the bronze medal by two pins to land in fourth place with 1416. Syimir Abdul Razak, Malaysia, was another four pins behind in fifth place with 1412. Eric Tseng, Hong Kong (1403), and Mitch Marris, Australia (1401) also cracked the 1400-bar to land in 6th and 7th place.
58 boys from 15 countries - Australia, China, DPR Korea, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and UAE - will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, 4-player Team, All Events and Masters.
