StriXeLogo_small.jpg2009VOClaraJulianaGuerrero3.jpgInternational Hammer Staff Member, Harold Andres Galmez has won the Track StriXe 2010 at Cosmic Bowling Center in Santiago de Chile. In the title match of the single-elimination finals Chile's best bowler defeated Alejandro Deschamps, United States, 511-451.

14 players were invited to bowl in the Track StriXe 2010 including two-time World Champion, Clara Juliana Guerrero (right), of Colombia.

The PBA Women's Series Presented By BOWL.COM exempt player led the qualifying with a 973 4-game series and an average of 243.25. Guerrero and second-placed Deschamps (946) earned one bye for the single-elimination finals (two-game pinfall total to determine the winner).

8th seeded Alicia Arigon from Uruguay, who won her opening match against No. 9 Cristian Santander, by two pins, 375-373, stunned Guerrero in Round two, when she eliminated the top seed by the closest possible margin, 442-441.

Galmez, who is just coming back from a serious wrist injury that kept him on the sidelines all of 2009, fought his way through the early rounds defeating No. 12 Bernardo Olivares, 444-413, and No. 13 Eliel Gonzalez, 459-444.

In the semifinals, Galmez came back from a 21-pin deficit to beat Arigon, 427-415 while Deschamps eliminated No. 14 Marta Puelles, 362-332.

In the title match, Galmez took a 41-pin lead by winning the first game, 273-232, and sealed the victory with a 238-219 win in game #2.

James Porter, Technical Director of the Chilean Bowling Federation, reports that on Wednesday the 20th the Chilean bowlers were given a fantastic seminar sponsored by Ebonite. International Vice President, Mike Quitter, pro shop technician Fabrizio Cerutti and World Champion Clara Juliana Guerrero dazzled a crowd of 50 for 4 1/2 hours with the introduction of Ebonite's new lines (Ebonite, Hammer, Track and Columbia) and then a great question and answer session with Guerrero fielding questions from the crowd for over 1.5 hours.

The next championship in Chile will be the Columbia StriXe Invitational in August 2010 with an expected $10,000 USD in prizes.
