2010 European Bowling Tour features 21 tournaments with over 1.2 million Euro prize money

2010EBTLogo_small.jpgThe European Bowling Tour is heading into the 11th season featuring 21 tour stops between January 2nd and December 19th, 2010 including all 15 tournaments from the 2009 schedule plus six newcomers to the tour.

The EBT has introduced a new category and name changes of the three existing categories for the 2010 season. The 2010 EBT Tour features 2 EBT Platinum tournament (formerly Premier), 6 EBT Gold tournaments (formerly Major), 9 EBT Silver tournaments (formerly Challenger) and 4 EBT Satellite tournaments (new).

The Gold, Silver and Satellite tournaments will be sandwiched between the two Platinum events. The 2010 season will traditionally kick off with the 40th annual Brunswick Ballmaster Open in Helsinki, Finland, and ends with the Qatar Bowling Open in Doha, Qatar one week before Christmas.

The six newcomers are:
IV International Wroclaw Open by Hammer in Poland (Satellite)
1st Ebonite Austria Challenge in Austria (Silver)
1st Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open in Germany (Silver)
BNC Bratislava Open in Slovakia (Silver)
1st Torneo Internazionale di Roma in Italy (Satellite)
1st Pavlovskiy Posad Open in Russia (Satellite).

This will be the first time the EBT Tour will visit Slovakia and Russia.

The total prize fund of the 2010 EBT will exceed 1.2 million Euro, an average prize fund of approximately 55.000 € per stop.

Each EBT tournament offers ranking points to the top 50 men and the top 50 women of the tournament. The top 16 women and the top 16 men at the end of the 2010 season will qualify for the 4th EBT Masters 2011 (city/country yet not decided).

The 3rd EBT Masters will be hosted immediately after the conclusion of the 1st Austria Challenge at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria on May 3-4, 2010.
