Pöllänen mere two points behind Sanders in women's ranking

Though Dominic Barrett (left), England, lost his second title match of the 2009 European Bowling Tour season in the VII Catalonia Open in Barcelona, the 2-time World Youth champion overtook the lead in the men's ranking. Barrett has 210 points, 10 more than two-time defending ranking champion Osku Palermaa, Finland, who slipped to second with 200.

Krista Pöllänen (right), Finland, used a third-place finish in the women's ranking in Barcelona to narrow the gap to women's ranking leader Nicole Sanders, Netherlands, to two points, 142 to 140. Sanders did not compete in the Catalonia Open.

Dennis Eklund, Sweden, and Piritta Kantola, Finland, moved into third place with 132 and 128 points, respectively.
