EBT Masters 2010 to be held in Vienna, Austria

Wolfgang Lohschmid (pictured), tournament director of the Vienna Open, a major tournament on the European Bowling Tour, has announced today that the Presidium of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation has decided at its meeting, February 6-7 in Vienna, to accept his offer to host the 2010 EBT Masters.
The top 16 women and the top 16 men in the 2009 EBT ranking season will qualify for the event.
The third ETB Masters will be held May 3-4, 2010 at 32-lane Plus Bowling, home of the Vienna Open, immediately following a newly formed tournament - The Austria Challenge.
The inaugural Austria Challenge, which will be contested from Wednesday, April 28 through Sunday, May 2, 2010, will offer a total prize fund of 41.900 Euro.

Qualifying
12 squads from Wednesday through Saturday
Top 8 earn one bye and qualify for final round 2
Players ranked 9th to 36th qualify for final round 1 Another 12 players qualify through the second chance "Joker" game.
Joker (to be paid extra BEFORE each squad)
In each squad the player with the second-highest 3-game series (games 4-6) is qualified for final step 1.
Finals
Round 1: 40 players, 6 games, 2 players per lane, top 22 advance
Lane Maintenance
Round 2: 30 players, 6 games, 1 player per lane, top 16 advance
Round 3: 16 players, 6 games, 1 player per lane, top 8 advance
Lane Maintenance
Round 4: 8 players, Round Robin Match Play.
