Rickle Kam, Tang Joh Six earn the titles at 2012 ABF Tour Macau leg

Rickle Kam of Hong Kong and Tang Joh Six of Malaysia (pictured left, r-l) won four matches each in single-elimination match play to earn the men's and women's title at the Asian Bowling Federation Tour Macau leg Sunday at COTAI International Bowling Center in Macau, China.
Kam defeated Hengky Susanto of Indonesia in the men's final, 197-190 while Tang topped defending champion Julia Lam of Macau, 194-177, in the women's title match.
It was the first career ABF Tour title for Kam and the second for Hong Kong in the men's division this year. Tang won her fourth women's Tour title and the first for Malaysia in 2012.
Kam started his title run pitted against fellow Hong Kong national team member Wu Siu Hong in the opening round. Kam edged the Thailand leg winner, 197-190 to meet multiple ABF Tour winner Hussain Al-Suwaidi in Round 2.
Kam survived an unexpected low-scoring encounter, 162-152, then flew past Asian Games champion Ryan Lalisang of Indonesia in the semifinal, 254-187, to advance to the title match.
Hengky stunned Macau China International Open champion Yannaphon Larp-apharat, Thailand, 190-175, in the opening round and went on to defeat Surasak Manuwong of Thailand, 203-197, and another Hong Kong international, Wicky Yeung, 172-147, to advance to the final.
Wu Siu Hong maintained his lead in the Tour point ranking after six events with 184 points. Wicky Yeung moved into second place with 167.5. Kam jumped into a tie for 14th place with 75 points.
2009 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions winner Tang Joh Six captured her fourth career title on the ABF Tour with games between 149 and 194. After a comfortable victory in the opening round against Un Im Cheng of Macau, 185-157, Tang barely survived her quarterfinal match against Chan Weng Hang, also of Macau, by three pins, 149-146.
In the semi-final, Tank edged Leong Mei Sheung of Hong Kong, by four pins, 188-194, to bowl 2011 ABF Tour Macau leg champion Julia Lam for the title.
Lam's route to the final was more difficult than her opponent's but she dispatched of former Asian Ranking champion Chan Shuk Han, Hong Kong, 193-172, and Chan's fellow national team bowler Milki Ng, 203-158, before eliminating Indonesian standout Putty Armein, in the semifinal, 216-179.
Macau Open champion Chan Weng Sam, Macau, fell to Leong Mei Sheung in the opening round, 198-177.
Julia Lam, Macau overtook the lead in the ABF Tour women's ranking with 105 points and is followed by Tang Joh Six in second place with 92.
The seventh ABF Tour leg will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia Monday, Oct. 8, in conjunction with the 10th Indonesia International Open at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center (Oct. 1-7). The final stop will follow the 6th Kingdom International Open Bowling Championship (Dec. 16-21), Saturday, Dec. 22 at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 2012 ABF Tour consists of eighth tournaments - four in the Middle East, all without a women's division, and four in East Asia, all including a women's division.
Bowlers earn ranking points based on how they finish in each event. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 16 men and top 16 women who will qualify for the Tournament of Champions to be held in 2013.
