In the semi-finals, Siu Hong eliminated Finn Mika Luoto, 233-201, while Palermaa survived a nail-biter against Robert Andersson.

The righthander from Hong Kong, a two-time Asian ranking champion, had a 1481 six-game series and an average of 246.83. The winners of the Doubles event in the 4th Vienna Open powered by Columbia 300 were the reigning World Champions in Doubles, Robert Andersson and Martin Larsen from Sweden.

Martin Larsen from Sweden felled 1429 pins in the 13th and penultimate qualifying squad to leap two spots into fourth place in the 4th Vienna Open powered by Columbia 300. The Swedes, who leads the Doubles event with team mate and co-World Champion in Doubles, Robert Andersson, started his six-game block with 266, 267 and 266 (799) and finished with 212, 208 and 210, an average of 238.17.
