2010 European Senior Bowling Championships conclude with Masters competition

Austria, Belgium, Finland, Estonia, Israel and France win final gold medals

The top 6 players in each age group in the All Events standings (18 games) advanced to the Masters finals Friday at Plus Bowling. Pictured left are the medalists in Men Group B. On the right are the top 3 in Women Group A.

Masters competition to conclude the Championships on Friday

2010ESBCTriosMen_small.jpg12 out of 21 participating countries - Finland, France, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Germany, Irland, and Switzerland - shared the medals in Singles, Doubles and Trios at the 2010 European Senior Bowling Championships in Vienna, Austria. The top six men and the top six women of the All Events standings in all three age groups advanced to the Masters finals in round robin match play format. 936 senior bowlers - 287 women and 649 men - from 21 countries compete in the six-day event.

Austria, Finland and Norway earn the titles in Women Singles at ESBC

Christine Gablek wins first gold medal for the host country of Austria

2010ESBCLogo_small.jpg 2010ESBCChristineGbalek_small.jpgChristine Gablek (pictured), Austria (Group A), Eija-Liisa Lähdemäki, Finland (B), and Nina Torgersen, Norway (C) captured the gold medals in Women Singles in the 2010 European Senior Bowling Championships in Vienna, Austria. It was the first gold medal in the championships for Austria and Norway and the second for Finland. The other events, Women Trios, Men Singles, Men Doubles and Men Trios will conclude on Thursday.

Israel, Belgium and Finland earn first gold medals at European Senior Bowling Championships

Israel, Belgium and Finland earned the first gold medals of the championships which will run through Friday June 25. Markku Puurunen (right), Finland, and Walter Rieger, Austria, set the highlights in the men's division thus far when they shot the first 300 games of the championships.

2010 European Senior Bowling Championships are underway in Vienna

947 bowlers to compete in three bowling centers

2010ESBCLogo.jpg The 2010 European Senior Bowling Championships are underway at Plus Bowling, Brunswick Bowling Hernals, and Brunswick Bowling Prater in Vienna, Austria. 947 senior bowlers - 289 women and 659 men - from 21 countries will compete over six days for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios and Masters. Each division, men and women, is divided into three age groups. The top 6 players in each group after 18 games (Singles, Doubles, Trios) will advance to the Masters finals on Friday, June 25th.

Seniors bowlers invade Vienna for the 2010 European Senior Bowling Championships

Championships will be held simultaneously in three bowling centers

2010ESBCLogo_small.jpg Almost 1000 senior bowlers invaded Austria's capital city of Vienna for the 2010 European Senior Bowling Championships, which got underway on Saturday evening, June 19th, with the Opening Ceremonies at Eventhotel Pyramide. The ESBC will kick off on Sunday morning 9 a.m. CET at three of Vienna's biggest bowling centers, Plus Bowling, Brunswick Bowling Hernals and Brunswick Bowling Prater. Almost 300 women and more than 600 men from 22 countries will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios and Masters.
