For the second consecutive squad on the last qualifying day in the
Brunswick Euro Challenge in Paris, France, the women bowlers dominated
the leaderboard at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. Mai Ginge Jensen (l.), Denmark, led Squad 20 and improved her previous
high score to 1408 in route to move into 10th place in
the overall qualifying standings. Next were Britt Brøndsted, Denmark; Malin Glendert, Sweden and
Diandra Asbaty, United States, who took 17th, 18th and 24th place. Mathias Ă…rup (r.), Sweden, was the best man in the squad in fifth place with 1353, and leapfrogged into 29th place. Brian Voss, United States, continued to lead with 1537.

PBA champion Mike Fagan (pictured left) won his second title on the European Bowling Tour when he defeated PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss, 236-225, in the title match of the Brunswick Euro Challenge 2009 Sunday at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. Fagan, who has won the 2005 Viernheim Open in Germany, received the 16.000 Euro top prize. Voss, who led the tournament after qualifying and match play and who was also targeting for his second EBT title after his victory in the Ciutat de Barcelona in Spain in 2005, earned 9.000 Euro for second place. Mai Ginge Jensen, who won the women's rankings, finished third with Kamilla Kjeldsen in fourth, both Denmark.
PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss, who led the qualifying in the Brunswick Euro Challenge Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France, won three matches in the single-elimination match play portion on Sunday to earn the No. 1 seed for the stepladder finals. Fellow PBAer and last year's runner-up Mike Fagan secured the No. 2 seed. Fagan took advantage of Joanne Allsebrook's 2-1 semi-final defeat against Mai Ginge Jensen (left), Denmark, after the Allsebrook has started the match with a 300 game. Jensen, seeded fourth will meet compatriot Kamilla Kjeldsen (right) in the opening match. Stay tuned for our video from the championship match. 
Jo Allsebrook, England, rolled the fifth 300 game in the Brunswick Euro Challenge 2009 and the second by a woman Sunday afternoon at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. The perfecto came in the first game of her Round of 8 match against Dane Mai Ginge Jensen. It was the first 300 game in the single-elimination match play portion. Former Junior Team USA member Matt O'Grady (pictured left) fired
a huge 1561 series on Sunday morning at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint
Maximin, France, en route to lead the top 16 of Final Round One into
the single-elimination match play portion. O'Grady, who missed the qualifying cut for 52nd place by mere one pin
but qualified for the finals with a 249 game in the Desperado Squad,
had games of 290, 269, 227, 232, 277 and 266 to lead second-place Martin Larsen (1469), Sweden, by 92 pins. Olivier Leroy, Belgium, hit the cutoff number for 16th place with 1317 and an average of 219.50. The top 16 will be seeded 17-32 and meet the top 16 qualifiers in
single-elimination best-of-three games match play. 
23-time PBA champion Brian Voss (l.) won the qualifying in the

en route to lead 64 players into the finals on Sunday. The PBA Hall of
Famer had a score of 1537 and an average of 256.17 over six
games. Fellow PBAer Mike Fagan was third with 1473. Joanne Allsebrook (r.), England, was sandwiched between the two PBA
pros in second place with 1484 including 48 pins handicap, a standard
for women on the European Bowling Tour. The women did extremely well in
the qualifying and had eight players among the top 11. A total of 64 players advanced to the finals on Sunday.
The Brunswick Euro Challenge 1009 is the fourth stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour and one of the Tour's "majors". The BEC sponsored by Brunswick Bowling is organized by Brunswick distributor Valcke Bowling. The total prize fund is 90,000 Euro (currently about US$114,000) with 16.000 Euro going to the winner. Tanya Petty (l.) from Germany played in her own class in the 22nd and penultimate qualifying squad of Brunswick Euro Challenge Saturday afternoon at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. The 3-time European Champions Cup winner chalked up 1372 pins, an average of 228.67, and added 48 pins handicap to shoot into 9th place in the overall qualifying standings with 1420. 23-time PBA champion Brian Voss (r.), United States, leads the field of 313 players since Squad 13 with 1537 six-game total and an average of 256.17. Qualifying concludes tonight with Squad 23 and the Desperado Squad. 
The first of the final four squads in the Brunswick Euro Challenge saw
a strong performance by some of the top European women bowlers.
Two-time European ranking champion Kamilla Kjeldsen (l.), Denmark, led the 56 players from Squad 20 on Saturday morning
with 1445 including 48 pins handicap en route to jump into fourth place in the
overall qualifying standings. Patricia Luoto (r.),
Germany, was just 11 pins
behind with 1434, good for fifth place
overall. Reigning European ranking queen Nina Flack, Sweden, improved her score to 1375 to move into 7th place. PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss held on to the lead with 1537.
Tore Torgersen, Norway, posted the fourth 300 game in the Brunswick Euro Challenge 2009 and the third by a man Friday afternoon at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. The long-time Norwegian national team member, a former World and European champion as well as PBA exempt bowler, accomplished the feat in the fourth game of Squad 17 on lanes 9/10. Britt Brøndsted, Denmark, rolled the third 300 game in the Brunswick Euro Challenge 2009 and the first by a woman in Squad 16 on Friday afternoon at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France. The perfecto came in the second game of the squad on lanes 21/22. It was just the second career 300 game for the 2003 World Ranking Masters queen, who led the women's European Bowling Tour rankings from 2004-2006, and a big relief (pictured) after "many 299s in the past".
