In the semifinals, Via cruised to a 246-180 victory over All Events champion Sam Cooley of Australia, while Fransson equally easily sidelined two-time gold medalist Marshall Kent, USA, 242-202.

The World Tenpin Bowling Association has announced the 2014 WTBA World Youth Championship will be contested in Hong Kong, while Lincoln, Neb., in the United States will host the 2016 event. The WTBA Executive Committee announced the selections at its meeting alongside the 2012 World Youth Championships this week in Bangkok, Thailand. The 2014 event is slated to take place in the first half of August 2014 while the 2016 event will be held in July.
