QubicaAMF has announced that the 46th Bowling World Cup will be held at Bowling de Provence in Toulon (pictured), on the French Riviera, from October 15-24, 2010. Michel Beltramone, Managing Director of the 44-lane center, stepped in to host the World Cup after a change in ownership in Croatia prevented the tournament going ahead there as planned. Toulon lies on the western end of the Cote d'Azur on the Mediterranean,
known around the world as the French Riviera.
June at the SuperBowl in St. Julian's, Malta, saw the MTBA qualifying event for this year’s QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup, which will be held in Zagreb, Croatia between the 15th - 24th of October. Malta will be represented by Mark Spiteri (l.) and Sue Abela (r.) after the duo came through to top their respective divisions with flying colors. The Maltese World Cup qualifier follows a simple format, all bowlers
playing three 8-game sessions, and the highest pinfall total determining the male and female winners.

Marcelo Suartz won the XIX Copa AMF Brazil to earn the right to represent his country in the 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Bowling 300 Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia (Oct. 15-24, 2010). In the title match of the five player stepladder final, Suartz, the No. 1 seed, flew past #5 Fernando de Azevedo, 246-188, to win his second berth into the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Suartz' 7th place finish including a 217.68 average over 40 games at the 43rd BWC in St. Petersburg, Russia, was the best performance of a Brazilian bowler in the BWC history.
2009 World Cup champion Caroline Lagrange falls to Wong in women's title match

Schmidt earned his fifth berth out of the last six attempts by defeating Robbie Scerbo, Winnipeg, Manitoba, 245-142. Wong denied Caroline Lagrange's bid to defend her World Cup title with a 232-203 win in the decisive game.
MTV, the world's biggest music TV station, is holding its first ever party in Croatia and has chosen Bowling 300 Zagreb as the venue, the home of the 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in 2010. DJs Dario and Doki will keep the musical fun moving along while party-goers will be able to try their hand at bowling. Denies Michael Schmidt's bid for second World Cup title
Choi Yong-Kyu (pictured left), who has dominated the men's division of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia since the second qualifying block, captured the first World Cup title for Korea in the 45-year history of the prestigious event. In the title match top seeded Choi swept 2005 BWC champion Michael Schmidt, Canada, 2-0, and denied Schmidt's bid to become just the second men to win multiple titles. Schmidt also made quick work of No. 3 seed, Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, in the opening match. The 46th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held in Zagreb, Croatia (Oct. 16-23, 2010, tbc).

Top seeded Caroline Lagrange (l.) from Canada came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat No. 3 seed Zara Giles, England, two-games-to-one to win the women's title in the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Melaka, Malaysia. Lagrange dropped the first game, 189-194, but rebounded with a 210-181 win to level the match. Needing a double and four to win the decisive game, Lagrange delivered three strikes to seal the victory, 218-211. Giles swept No. 2 seed Siti Safiyah Amirah, Malaysia, in the opening match.
Eventual World Cup champion Choi Yong-Kyu from Korea, rolled the sole 300 game of the 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in the sixth game of round robin match play (38th game overall) on Thursday morning Nov. 19 at Melaka International Bowling Center in Melaka, Malaysia. It was the 44th perfecto in the World Cup history and the 35th by a man. Another first for Choi as he was the first Korean bowler, man or woman, to accomplish the feat.
